Moms age
Their youthful days
Substituted for our fruitful phase.
We’re seeds that didn’t have to be planted;
The foundation was already set,
So we emerged from their outstretched branches.
Like the caterpillar ,
It’s spectacular
How we cleave
And take to flight
To find our own way
After years of feeding off the leaves
Of our mother figures.
Mom,
Seeing you age is a blessing
Considering all the gruesome things
You had to go through for me .
Those nights i found you bawling
But had no idea what was wrong .
Like a genie ,
You granted all my wishes
Irrespective of how much they costed you.
So dear mom , thank you .
